SIGCHI has established a Financial Hardship Waiver (FHW) program—alongside all ACM SIGs and with financial support from the SIG Governing Board—to support authors who are unable to cover Article Processing Charges (APCs), particularly those whose institutions do not participate in the ACM Open program. To be eligible, the corresponding author must be a current ACM or SIGCHI member. Submissions with co-authors who are covered by ACM Open are not eligible. Priority is given to researchers without access to institutional or grant funding. Corresponding authors can apply for a waiver via the ACM e-rights workflow once their paper is accepted.
