Announcing the 2025 SIGCHI Awards!

We are very pleased to announce the awardees for the 2025 cycle of the ACM SIGCHI Awards! Centrally administered by the SIGCHI Executive Committee (EC), these awards are given annually in several categories recognizing lifetime achievements in research and practice as well as societal impact and outstanding dissertations. Furthermore, the EC also inducts members into the SIGCHI Academy. The awardees will be formally recognized at the upcoming ACM CHI 2025 conference in Yokohama, Japan in April, during which they may give a talk or participate in a panel discussion. Nadia Campo Woytuk - KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden - For early-career research in intimate body-sensing technologies, developing open-source methods for studying intimate care, and creating inclusive maker spaces that support feminist HCI.
Mark Colley - University College London, UK - For early-career contributions to inclusive HCI research, extensive community building, and championing open science in automotive user interfaces.
Gustavo Lopez - University of Costa Rica, Costa Rica - For advancing HCI research and education in Latin America through community leadership, helping to establish regional SIGCHI chapters, and fostering collaboration in HCI.
Jasmine Lu - University of Chicago, USA - For pioneering research in ecological HCI through novel hardware interfaces and fostering communities around sustainable computing.

Nominations for the 2025 SIGCHI awards are now open! Please submit nominations by midnight AoE on December 14, 2024.
We also newly invite SIGCHI Special Recognitions to honor contributions that may not be fully captured by our existing awards, such as Excellence in HCI Education, Community Building and Outreach, and more! These will help us identify new permanent awards to propose for future cycles.

Conferences Town Hall

We are holding a Conferences Town Hall on Monday, October 28th, 2-3pm UTC (the first of what will be quarterly town halls)! Find details on our event page.
Following the SIGCHI Futures Summit earlier this year, the EC has been focused on supporting our conferences—with logistics, finances, ACM OPEN, and more. Come meet our new Conferences Team, hear key updates about our conferences and publications, and discuss how we can further strengthen support!
This is open to past/present/future chairs and organizers of any of our conferences, but any attendees of SIGCHI conferences are also invited to listen and provide input.
