The SIGCHI EC held an online working meeting on June 9, 2023.

The following EC members attended the meeting: Neha Kumar, Matt Jones, Nic Bidwell, Helena Mentis, Adriana Vivaqua, Andrew Kun, Catia Prandi, Hao-Chuan Wang, Keith Instone, Pejman Mirza-Babaei, PM team (Jillian Skelly + Morgan Vick).

We discussed the following topics:

1. ACM FAccT and SIGCHI:

   The ACM FAccT conference applied for becoming a SIGCHI co-sponsored conference. Representatives of FAccT and EC members discussed mutual plans for how to join forces. Next, the EC will vote on making ACM FAccT a SIGCHI co-sponsored conference (70% SIGCHI sponsorship).

2. Preparation for SIGCHI and CHI Town Hall.

   The EC discussed which topics will be covered at the Town Hall later this month, and discussed who will prepare information.

3. Update on safety at SIGCHI conferences.

   The EC discussed progress in improving safety for all at SIGCHI conferences, including attendees and volunteers.

4. Update on EC handbooks.

   The EC received a brief update on work towards the EC handbook, which will primarily be used for onboarding new members.

5. Coordinating our work.

   The EC discussed how we can coordinate communication between EC members and members of the SIGCHI community and beyond. We will be moving our committees to the Slack we use, for this purpose.
