EC Meeting, February 18, 2025

14 out of 18 EC members are in attendance. 

Neha starts with a discussion on EC member’s volunteer duties at CHI. We discuss our progress on planning the various events we’ll be hosting. We also discuss ways that we can reduce costs of travel, such as choosing hotels carefully. 

Hao-Chuan leads a discussion of the FY26 budget. The budget sheet from ACM should be sent soon, so for now, we discuss items that take up a significant portion of the budget and how we might be more mindful of costs in those areas. 

Neha shares updates about ACM OPEN and how it might impact the budget. ACM is determining a transition plan for ACM OPEN, and there is a need to think about how those who are not part of institutions signed on to ACM OPEN can be covered. 

We also discuss how the EC should work with steering committees of sponsored conferences to approve conference leadership, and how bylaws can better outline and support this process.
