I am a researcher and Ph.D. student in the Interactive Technologies group of the University of Eastern Finland. I love computer science and want its advancement and strengthening. From this love, a genuine interest in divulgation and scientific communication was born. I am doing research in computer-human interaction, specifically on gaze-based interaction. I am currently involved in research on a simulation for training in medical environments. I am interested in simulation, performance assessment, interface design, study of the learning process and divulgation. I am sure that I will enjoy the ambassador role and will do my best to spread the word about awesome research in the field of computer science!

I am a PDEng (Professional Doctorate in Engineering) trainee in User System Interaction at Eindhoven University of Technology and a first year PhD student at Tilburg University, the Netherlands. My PhD is linked to the L2TOR project, which focuses on designing a tutoring robot for teaching a second language to children. In the coming academic year I will start my journey as a lecturer for New Media Design, a new track within the department of Communication and Information Sciences at Tilburg University. I’m very passionate about designing technology that contributes to society in fun, engaging and playful ways. The trip that my colleague-friends and I took to the CHI conference in 2016 has really inspired me to contribute and give back to the community.

I am a Research and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Chile. My current research interests cover the fields of social computing and human-computer interaction, where I study interpersonal communication and cooperative practices in group work as a way to design and evaluate new technology for connecting people in a variety of scenarios, such as families, local communities, and educational settings. My main motivation for being a SIGCHI Communication Ambassador is to raise awareness and increase the participation and engagement of Latin American HCI students and researchers within the broader SIGCHI community.
I am an Assistant Professor in Human-Centered Computing at the Clemson University School of Computing. I hold a B.S. in Innovation Sciences and an M.S. in Human-Technology Interaction from the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands, an M.A. in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University, and a PhD in Information and Computer Sciences from UC Irvine. I work on privacy decision-making and user-centric evaluation of adaptive systems. As an ambassador, I want to support an inclusive community of SIGCHI researchers in all corners of the world, and create opportunities for researchers to collaborate within and beyond the field of HCI.
