The ACM LISTSERV is a program that manages mailing lists
so that people can subscribe to lists on specific topics,
send and receive mail sent to the lists,
get files stored by people who manage the lists,
and control their options.
This document describes the most common LISTSERV
commands and how to use them.
It is also a form to control your ACM SIGCHI open discussion
list subscriptions,
so, by interacting with the form,
you can subscribe to lists,
find out more about them,
and control your subscription options
(or even get off a list).
The form works by sending requests to
listserv@acm.org;
Some LISTSERV conventions might be useful to people
who want to use LISTSERV directly:
- All list management is done by sending requests to the LISTSERV,
never to a list.
- Requests must appear in the body of a message, never in the
Subject: line, which is ignored by the LISTSERV.
- LISTSERV is case-insensitive, and often allows abbreviations
for requests.
In the following form, you should supply information as needed,
and then initiate commands by selecting buttons
(the labels on the buttons indicate the LISTSERV command
that will run).
