On Monday I had a chance to interview Allison Druin. She is at CHI for many reasons. One of them is she wants to learn. Next, to give talks. And last, to check on CHIkids. Allison has come to CHI for 14 years!! Allison is a professor at the University of Maryland. She is in the Human-Computer Interaction Lab. She is also in the College of Education. Allison finds that the people, demos, and CHIkids are the most interesting things about CHI. Her favorite website is the CHIkids website (www.acm.org/sigchi/chi99/chikids). The thing she likes most about computers is how excited kids are to use them. At the end of the interview, she told me that she has worked on a storytelling robot that is here at CHI. This was a very interesting interview.
