Conference Registration Form

The Conference Registration Form is available online. We also have forms with pirces in Canadian currency.

Early Registration Discount

A substantial discount is available for forms postmarked or faxed on or before March 14, 1996. No telephone or e-mail registrations will be accepted.

Conference participants are urged to register early and arrange their travel and accommodations as soon as possible.

On-site conference registration will be available (with higher fees), but it is strongly recommended that you register as early as possible by mailing or faxing your registration form with payment in US dollars to the address indicated on the form.

A half-day tutorial is 1 unit, a full-day tutorial is 2 units.

Conference Registration Fee Includes

"Member" Conference Fee

If you are a member of ACM/SIGCHI or any of the cooperating societies listed, you qualify for the reduced conference registration fee.

"Non-Member" Conference Fee

Included in the registration fee for non-members is a membership in ACM/SIGCHI.

Tutorial Registration

Full and half day tutorials are offered on April 14-15. Two tutorials (Human-Computer Interaction: Introduction and Overview, and User Interface Design for the World Wide Web) will be offered Saturday evening, April 13. There is a separate fee for each tutorial. Half-day tutorials cost 1 unit and full-day tutorials are 2 units. Registration for tutorials is limited and is assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Workshop and Research Symposium Registration

Participation in Workshops and the Research Symposium requires the payment of separate fees and submitting a special registration form.

Upon acceptance to participate in either of these activities you will receive a special registration form. See the Workshop Information for contact information. If you are also attending the conference, be sure to complete the special registration form as well as the conference registration form and return both forms with payment.

Workshops

Workshops are offered on April 14 and 15. Accepted workshop participants will be charged a special registration fee of $50 for each one-day workshop or $100 for a two-day workshop. The deadline for applying to participate in Workshops is March 29, 1996.

Research Symposium

The Research Symposium will take place on April 13 and 14. Accepted Research Symposium participants will be charged a special registration fee of $100. The deadline for applying to participate in the Research Symposium is March 29, 1996.

Registration Location

The CHI 96 Registration area will be located in the lobby of the Vancouver Trade & Convention Centre. Pre-registered participants may pick up their badges and other conference materials in this area. On-site registration for the conference and Tutorials (subject to space availability) is available here. Registration hours are:

Sunday/Monday   8:00 am to 7:00 pm
Tuesday         7:30 am to 7:00 pm
Wednesday       8:00 am to 7:00 pm
Thursday        8:00 am to 2:00 pm

Conference Reception Tickets

The CHI 96 Conference Reception will take place at the Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver on Wednesday, April 17, 1996. The Pan Pacific Hotel is situated atop Canada Place, the heart of Vancouver's downtown harbor front. Rising above the cruise ship terminal the hotel shares the same complex as the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre and the World Trade Centre. Conference participants will receive a reception ticket (good for one admission) in their registration packet. Additional reception tickets may be purchased for $50 at the CHI 96 Merchandise desk.

Electrical Power Availability

It is ACM/SIGCHI policy to use the local power source. In Vancouver, it is 110 volt AC, 60 Hz, identical to the U.S. Please plan ahead; extension cords or power strips will not be provided by CHI 96.

Video Recording Prohibited

The use of video recording equipment is not permitted during any part of the conference.

Registration Deadlines

Thursday, March 7, 1996

Forms must be postmarked by this date to qualify for the early registration discount.

April 12, 1996 (5 pm EST)

Last day that forms will be accepted by the Registration Office. However, if your registration form is received after March 30, you may not receive a confirmation letter prior to your arrival in Vancouver.

Conference registration will be available at the Convention Centre, but it is recommended that you register as early as possible by mailing or faxing both sides of the registration form along with payment in US dollars to the address indicated below.

Payment

Registration forms must be accompanied by full payment in US dollars. Forms without payment will be returned to sender.

Payment may be remitted by credit card, check, or money order. All checks and money orders should be made payable to ACM/CHI 96. Purchase orders, wire transfers and government vouchers will not be accepted.

Registration forms may be submitted by fax or postal mail only. Telephone and e-mail registrations will not be accepted. Faxed forms must be paid by credit card.

Refund Requests

Refund requests must be submitted in writing and must be postmarked or faxed on or before April 12, 1996. Requests for refunds should be directed to the registration address indicated below. A $75 cancellation fee will be deducted to cover processing costs. Refund requests received after April 12, 1996 will not be accepted.

Registration Transfers

If you cannot attend, your registration may be transferred by giving a colleague a letter authorizing the transfer. The letter must be presented at registration.
